Interclub Challenge: 20 June 2021
Created in 2001 as a way to help identify and build youth sailors experience in fleet racing events, the Interclub Challenge is a fleet racing series contested by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club and Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron with each club hosting a stage of the series. Each stage consists of up to two teams from each club, participating in a maximum of six races per stage.

Captain John Piper Regatta: 17 – 18 July 2021
Supported by CYCA member, Dean Harrigan, the Captain John Piper Regatta is a two day match racing grade 4 event hosted in July. Entries are open to all teams and provides the ideal training platform for teams participating in the 2021/22 youth match racing circuit which begins in August.

Club Marine NSW Youth Match Racing Championship: 28 – 29 August 2021
Since its inception in 2001, the CYCA has hosted every NSW Youth Match Racing Championship with Club Marine continuing on as the naming rights sponsor for the event since 2004. This two day, World Sailing Grade 4 event will be hosted in August 2021. Only two yacht clubs have ever won the trophy, with Hunter Academy Sport winning the inaugural event. Since then the CYCA has won the past 17 events.

John Messenger Women’s Match Racing Regatta: 23 – 24 October 2021
The John Messenger Women’s Match Racing Regatta has been conducted annually since 1996 and is open to female teams of 4 or 5 sailors. The World Sailing Grade 4 event will be contested in late 2021, in the lead up to the Women’s Match Racing World Championship. The event is supported by the Margot Connors with up to 10 teams invited to compete. In 2018, the trophy was rededicated as the John Messenger Trophy after John sadly passed away in September 2017.

Harken International Youth Match Racing Championship: 17 – 21 November 2021
The Harken International Youth Match Racing Championship is back for 2021. Competition will take place from 18-21 November for youth sailors. Youth teams (under 23) will compete for the Rockin’ Robin Perpetual Trophy, racing on the RPAYC’s Elliott Class 7 performance keelboats with a crew of four or five.
