Administration - Sail Training and Centreboard

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Newport, located on the Northern Beaches, is a leading sail training and racing club for all ages, which operates year round. We are seeking a highly motivated Sail Training & Centreboard Administrator to administer the club’s extensive sail training programs and centreboard racing activities. The role would suit a university graduate with a Business, Recreational and or Sports background. And persons with existing work experience coordinating events/activities, database experience and community development. 
The Role
This role will involve administering our sail training programs which operate from Tackers (7 -12 year olds), teenagers and all the way through to adult learn to sail, rostering instructors/coaches and ensuring a smooth transition of pathways for young sailors through a variety of boat classes. The role also includes the administration and co-ordination of the club’s centreboard sailing division. This is an exciting and varied role working as part of the sailing team – come and join us!
What You Bring to the Role
• Sports administration background (sailing experience highly regarded, yet not essential)
• Working with Children Check
• Experience or knowledge in membership based club environment (desirable but not essential)
• Exceptional organisational, time management and communication skills
• Proficient excel, word, database administration, social media and website skills
• Positive, can do attitude, customer focussed
• Sailing and Boat licence (desirable but not essential).

This is a permanent full-time role working Sunday to Thursday, with 5 weeks annual leave, plus superannuation.

Boatyard Service Hands

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, located at Newport on the Northern Beaches, is seeking Boatyard Hands to join its dedicated Boatyard team, five days a week.

General duties include assisting with the lift / launch of vessels, preparation and application of marine coatings, polishing / detailing, cleaning and general maintenance of the Boatyard. Experience in both spray and rolling application of paints is advantageous.

The role includes paid industry training and certification.

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and proactively with attention to detail. Previous experience and a boat licence is also advantageous. Great opportunity to start your career in the marine industry.

Boatyard hours of operation 7.30am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday

Pay rate will be relevant to experience.

    Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is looking for a dynamic Administration Assistant to work with the Marina and Facilities team, located in Newport, on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney.

This will be a varied and interesting role and one that will suit someone who is willing to be adaptable, enjoys being hands-on and has a can-do attitude.

Primarily responsibilities include;

  • Handling enquiries (face to face and over the telephone)
  • Processing casual berth and facility reservations for Club Members and visitors
  • Invoicing and basic database maintenance
    General administration
  • Maintaining waitlists and general reporting

Critical to your success in this role you will have;

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience Customer Service and Administration

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, located in Newport on the northern beaches, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated candidate to fulfill the full-time role of Membership Coordinator.

The Membership Coordinator role provides service to the Clubs 2,000+ membership together with managing new membership enquiries, applications and working closely with the Membership Committee & Club Management to grow the Club.

  • The Membership Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of membership services, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to;
  • The position will be responsible for developing a detailed knowledge and ability to manipulate the membership database, to capture and report on membership trends.
  • Take new membership inquiries and process applications
  • Coordinate interviews for potential members
    Maintain the membership database
  • Capture & analyse data for preparation of monthly statistics reports
    Provide support to the Membership Committee including preparation of monthly agenda and papers, attendance at monthly meeting and taking of minutes
  • Plan and organise new member events inclusive of new member packs and collateral

Boatyard Operations Manager

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, located in Newport on the northern beaches, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated candidate to fulfil full-time the role of Boatyard Operations Manager to manage an established team with a 50 tonne travel lift and hardstand capacity for up to 10 boats.

The Boatyard Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Boatyard Operations, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Quality Control: ensure works are completed to the highest standards
    Works: manage and oversee all works to provide an efficient and productive Boatyard including identifying issues, liaising with clients, tenants and contractors
  • Scheduling: oversee, review job cards and works to ensure efficient and accurate completion, to minimise schedule changes
  • Communication: maintain and facilitate high service levels, as well as communication with clients, tenants and contractors
  • Staffing: Manage staff including employment, training and development
  • Budget and Reporting: Budget, forecast and monthly reporting
  • WH&S and Environment: manage and uphold compliance and risk mitigation controls
  • Stock and Supplies: oversee stock and supplies
  • Equipment: Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired, serviced

In order to fulfill the obligations of this role, the successful candidate will require;

  • Boatyard experience
    Travel lift operation experience
  • Boat licence and boat handling experience
