NSW Flying Ant Association Training Camp
Woollahra Sailing Club, Sat 30th and Sun 31st Janyary 2021
Four of the RPAYC Flying Ant Skiff Crews joined eight other crews from NSW in attending the Flying Ant training Camp at Woollahra over the weekend. Both of our newly purchased Club Boats attended the training with two new junior crews!
Day 1 consisted of training exercises in Rose Bay and a course around Shark Island in a steady NE breeze. On Sunday, the teams had an adventure sail to Double Bay in a brisk Southerly and had lunch with the 18ft Skiffs crews whilst they were rigging. The highlight for the crews was to catch-up with RPAYC’s Jim Colley and Shaun Connor who were rigging the ‘Shaw and Partners’ 18ft Skiff. The RPAYC Flying Ant teams were able to test out the trapeze of these super fast skiffs and get a feel for their future boat!
The weekend was a seriously fun learning experience for all !
