Cruising the Pacific Seminar, 16 November
- Ever dreamed about cruising New Zealand or the South Pacific. The South Pacific Sailing Network (SPSN) is comprised of a group of yacht clubs, marinas and marine businesses currently stretching from Panama to New Caledonia and down to NZ whose aim is to encourage and support cruising in the South Pacific.
Of course the option of departing Australia to arrive in the Bay of Islands in May in time to join the yachts heading north is always available.
Ross and Vicki who are members of SPSN are visiting RPAYC and will be giving an audio-visual presentation of their experiences in, and access to, New Zealand and the South Pacific islands. Naturally, they will also be ready to answer any questions you may have.
The presentation commences at 7:30pm, Pittwater Room.
Dinner available from Halyards Bistro prior
Rendezvous Cruise to La Perouse and Jibbon Beach (5 – 13 October)
For those who will not have the time to join the Clarence River Cruise, a rendezvous cruise has been arranged to La Perouse and Jibbon Beach which will span the above dates. The location of these destinations is shown in the photos and links below. It is a ‘goldilocks’ distance for a good sail there and back in less than one day.
The idea of ‘pinching’ and extra 4 days midweek is to allow more time to enjoy the attractions of the area and also to allow flexibility in choosing the best weather window for our return to Pittwater. La Perouse is ideal for shelter from the North and Jibbon Beach is sheltered from the South. Whilst each are totally separate destinations in its own right, they are only a short 30-40 minutes from each other. If any participants cannot stay the full week, they can also come for whatever length of time they choose.
I should also make the point that both La Perouse and Jibbon Beach are accessible by car for any family members who may want to join you. Find out more here

Clarence River Cruise (October – November 2024)
Planning has commenced for our longer coastal cruise later in the year. As many of you know we originally planned a Clarence River cruise in 2021 but Covid lockdowns and other restrictions impacted the cruise. We are now planning a cruise along the Clarence River in October /November 2024.
This would allow those who want to cruise north to Queensland to join the cruise on the way back south or alternatively explore the NSW north coast before heading up the Clarence River to Grafton.
