New Rear Commodore Centreboard

Meet our new Rear Commodore, Centreboard - Mark Dorling!

Mark’s journey in the sailing world is a testament to his enduring passion and commitment to the sport. Over 33 years, Mark has carved a name for himself in competitive sailing, with his experience spanning Laser, match racing, and yacht racing. It’s not just his achievements that set him apart—Mark has also instilled a love for sailing in his two young children, aged 9 and 10, who are following in their father’s wake by actively sailing Optimists and Manly Juniors at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC).

Mark’s current involvement in sailing is as dynamic as ever. He is an active member of the crews for the Condor Keer 40+ and the Law Connect MC38. Mark also competes in the Pacer family division, sharing his passion for the sport with his family. His hands-on experience and deep understanding of sailing make him an ideal candidate for Rear Commodore, Centreboard at RPAYC.

Mark’s vision for the club is to build a vibrant and engaged centreboard sailing community, fostering growth and participation among members of all ages. His experience, combined with his dedication to the sport and the club, positions him perfectly to lead and inspire the next generation of sailors at RPAYC. Welcome to your new position Mark, as Rear Commodore, Centreboard.
