HARKEN International Match Racing Championship
16-20 November 2022
Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is excited to announce the return of the HARKEN International Youth Match Racing Championship in 2022. This World Sailing Grade 4 event will see up to 10 teams compete for the Rockin’ Robin perpetual trophy.
Teams will be travelling from interstate and overseas to compete in this event, from clubs in Western Australia, New Zealand, USA and New Caledonia.
The success of this prestigious event relies on the generous efforts of RPAYC volunteers and billets and this year we are calling again for your support. RPAYC is seeking assistance from club members who live in the local Northern Beaches area, or who have a vessel on the marina, to ‘billet’ sailors, coaches and race officials.
The Harken Organising Committee would be grateful if your family would consider hosting a team or umpire for this year’s event. Teams comprise of four or five crew members and require accommodation for approximately one week. We expect competitors to arrive anytime from Wednesday 16th November and depart the following Monday.
Athletes will receive breakfast, lunch and some evening meals at the club from the 16th November. We do ask that host families take care of the needs of the team from their arrival to when the regatta begins.
Should your family be in a position to host a team the sailing office will gladly confirm the nationality or state of the team you will host and inform you of their arrival & departure dates. As a host family we would also be delighted to extend an invitation to you to join us for the prize giving on the 20th of November.
