We were thrilled to welcome over 20 boats onto the water for Round 6 of the ZHIK Centreboard Summer Series and Club Championships Round 3 on Sunday, 01 November.
It was a great day of Racing with challenging conditions with plenty of wind shifts throughout the afternoon.
Optimist Intermediate
Congratulations to Sylvia Carlson (Silver Lining), who sailed consistently throughout the afternoon to take overall honours. Jackson Bolewski (Wave Rider) finished second overall after winning the first two races with Olivia Dorling (Fish) rounding out the podium in third place.
Optimist Open
In another highly competitive division, Oliver Sun (Better Knot) won all 3 Races to claim boat of the day with Courtney Harrison (Opti McOptiface) put in a solid performance to finish second overall with Bono Svacek (Riptide) finishing third.
Mixed Junior
It’s been great to see the Pacers join in Centreboard these past few weeks with sibling bragging rights up for grabs. In the end it was Murray Gordon winning 2 of the races nudging sister Heidi to second place. We look forward to watching the rivalry continue for the rest of the season.
Mixed Two-Handed Handicap
The Mixed Two-Handed division saw two 29ers a Skud and a Flying 11 battle it out throughout the afternoon.
The Skud with Lina Buchan and Arthur Spithill ( Jim Brown) were too strong taking overall honours with Willow Murray and Lara Dorling ( Little Ripper) finishing in second place.
Well done to Max Gadja and Jack Dent (Double Trouble), who finished third overall.
Mixed Single-Hander
In the Mixed Single-Hander division, Jenny Danks (Spec), winning all 3 Races, closely followed by Jonny Harrison ( Less Sting) and Simone Wood ( Please Turn Over) filling the
It was fantastic to see everyone back at the club at the conclusion of racing for prizegiving and the BBQ, celebrating a great day on the water and catching up with fellow sailors.
