Support our Olympian - Jason Waterhouse

RPAYC continues its proud tradition of Club members competing at Olympics with Club Member, Jason Waterhouse along with teammate Lisa Darmanin representing Australia at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in the mixed Nacra17 class.

Jason who won silver in Rio 2016 and came third in the Nacra 17 World Championship in February 2020, will start racing in the heats on 28 July on the Enoshima Yacht Harbour. The motto of the 2020 Summer Olympics is ‘United by Emotion”.

Jason & Lisa are  are racing on the Nacra 17 which is a 5.25m racing cat for mixed crew first designed in the USA 2011 and is now a sailing hydrofoil. Jason and Lisa will be competing again against 5 of the other 6 medal winners from the 2016 summer Olympics.

Jason’s advice to young sailors is:
‘Training creates confidence, confidence creates good decisions, good decisions win races, winning races wins regattas!’.
