Congratulations to staff members Neva Nichols, Brendan Rourke and Dan Deamer on their ten year tenure at RPAYC – an amazing achievement!
Neva began working in our F & B department part time while raising her 2 beautiful daughters. With her professional, friendly, outgoing and considerate nature, she quickly became an integral member of our team, taking over the role of Alfred’s Table hostess and supervising Club functions and events. During lockdown, she is manning the Club’s Grab & Go continuing to ensure our members are well looked after.
Brendan started his employment with the Alfreds in the Sailing department, having previously worked at MHYC for over ten years, and his knowledge and unflappable nature helped him quickly find his way to the role of Sailing Manager, overseeing yacht racing, centreboard, cruising and sail training; over the past 4 years he has taken on the mammoth role of Sailing & Communications Manager. As are the majority of our staff, Brendan is working from home during lockdown to ensure that the club can open back up to sailing as soon as possible by finalising the 2021/22 season calendar, planning new season sailing events and keeping the website and social media updated.
Dan began his role at RPAYC in the Waterfront department in a maintenance capacity and in his current role as Facilities Supervisor, now includes supervising the vital maintenance of the marina and club grounds. He has been on annual leave recently at the Big Red Bash in Birdsville and when Sydney went into lockdown, extended his leave to travel through Queensland and Northern NSW.
I’m sure that all of our members will agree that Neva, Brendan and Dan are invaluable members of our RPAYC team and join us in thanking them for their many loyal years of service.
