The Club has an important responsibility to care for and protect the environment in which we operate and enjoy. We’re committed to improving environmental management systems and practices across our activities to reduce our footprint on our environment. Roof sheet replacement on the ‘Green Point’ tenant building is almost complete and in line with our commitment to reducing our footprint on our environment we’d like to share some exciting news.
A 60kW solar system will be installed on the ‘Green Point’ tenant building, with works commencing this week. This is one of many steps towards a sustainable future at the Club and we’re proud that we’ll be harnessing the power of the sun to reduce our reliance on fossil fuel, decreasing our carbon emissions by 29,917 kilograms of coal per annum.
As well as the environmental, the financial benefits speak volumes. Our annual electricity savings are projected to be around $22,000 per annum which demonstrates the economic advantages of embracing renewable energy solutions.
