Spinlock Elliott 7 Open Championship 2022
The Spinlock Elliott 7 Open Championship is a new event in the clubs racing calendar that welcomes sailors and teams to compete in a Fleet Race series with the top 6 teams progressing through to a Gold Fleet Medal Race to decide the overall winning team!
All teams will complete up to 12 qualifying fleet races onboard the RPAYC’s fleet of Elliott 7’s, before progressing into a final medal race (Gold or Silver fleet). This event will be an exciting opportunity for teams from all disciplines of sailing to compete in a fast-paced one-design series! Which team will be crowned the winner in 2022?

Event Format
Stage One – Fleet Racing Qualifying Series
Teams will be seeded into 3 groups, with 2 groups racing at one time. Each team will compete in up to twelve (12) qualifying races to determine the rankings for the Medal Races. The skippers finishing 1st to 6th shall proceed to Stage Three of the Championship (Gold Fleet Medal Race Final). The Skippers Finishing 7th to 12th shall proceed to Stage Two of the Championship (Silver Fleet Medal Race Final).
Stage Two – Silver Fleet Medal Race Final
After the completion of the racing, skippers shall be ranked 7th to 12th overall in the Championship, based on their finishing place in this stage, where double points shall be awarded.
Stage Three – Gold Fleet Medal Race Final
After the completion of the racing, skippers shall be ranked 1st to 6th overall in the Championship, based on their finishing place in this stage, where double points shall be awarded
