Friends of David Booth Memorial Race (RPAYC)
The Friends of David Booth Memorial Race is one of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club’s most anticipated annual sailing events, bringing together the RPAYC fleet and wider sailing community for a memorable day of racing on Pittwater and Broken Bay.
Held in honour of the late David “Boothy” Booth, this popular spinnaker pursuit yacht race celebrates Boothy’s passion for sailing, his generosity of spirit, and the friendships he built across nearly three decades at RPAYC. The race is designed to be both competitive and inclusive, welcoming a wide range of yachts and crews through a pursuit format that creates exciting, close finishes.
More than just a yacht race, the event is a true RPAYC tradition — combining great sailing, strong camaraderie, and a post-race gathering at the clubhouse where crews, friends and families come together to celebrate, share stories, and recognise the winners.
