RPAYC finishes strong across BYRA Peter Loft Marathon 2026
We are proud of the strong RPAYC representation across both courses in this year’s Peter Loft Marathon.
Amid 93 entries, the event delivered tough conditions and several retirements. This year saw at least 15 DNFs, alongside several notable incidents: one dinghy was escorted home by the support crew, a windsurfer abandoned their craft at Palm Beach and was returned by RIB, and another team retired due to a minor injury after unexpected onboard acrobatics. A further crew was forced to abandon at Clareville after their vessel began taking on water.
With dominant performances at the front of the fleet and hard-fought results throughout the divisions, RPAYC sailors featured strongly across both the leaderboard Lion Island and Barrenjoey courses. A fantastic collective effort from all competitors.
