Etchells Milson Silver Goblets
RSYS and the Sydney Etchells Fleet are delighted to welcome sailors to the Milsons Silver Goblets, taking place 23–27 February 2026.
Now in its 43rd year, this much-loved regatta has become a highlight of the Etchells calendar. The twilight racing format showcases Sydney Harbour at its absolute best, stunning evenings, reliable breeze, and beautifully clear racecourses with minimal harbour traffic.
The Etchells Milson Goblets Regatta was run by the RSYS last week 23rd to 27th February.
The regatta is unique, being a twilight regatta with racing starting at 545pm each evening, with one race held each day. This year due to Sydney SailGP the regatta had to be shortened to four days.
RPAYC was represented by two boats, Flirtation (Jason Antill, Sam King, John Cross and Bruce Dey). And 2107 Racing (Dave Taylor, Mark Hellyer and Tom Crow).
Racing is very competitive and intense. In the first race on Monday the southerly came and went and we raced near Steele Point in 6-8knots. The two RPAYC boats started well and Flirtation were first at the first mark and 2107 Racing were 3rd. Final places were 3rd and 7th respectively.
Tuesday saw a 18-20knot Nor’easter on the Harbour. The RO set a two lap course with a 1.7nm upwind and a downwind finish. Flirtation were 3rd at the first mark rounding and 2107 Racing were 4th. Final placings for RPAYC in race 2 were 4th and 13th with 2107 facing some issues during the race with an electric pump not working properly.
Wednesday saw a 15-18knot SSE wind and the course was a 1.7nm upwind finish course into Rose Bay. 2107 Racing and Flirtation battled together for most of the race with Flirtation pipping 2107 Racing just before the finish for finishes of 5th and 6th.
Thursday racing had to be abandoned due to constant rain and now wind. The RO was unable to get a start away by 630pm.
Overall the results for RPAYC were Flirtation 3rd (2nd Corinthian) and 2107 Racing 8th (5th Corinthian).
