Welcome to the Hansa World Championships 2025
The 2025 Hansa Class World and International Championships will take place at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club from March 23 to 30 March 2025.. The IDP pre-worlds event will run from the 18-22 March, this is a unique coaching program hosted by World Sailing on Pittwater.
Invited Hansa Classes will be the Hansa 2.3, 303 singles and doubles, Liberty and SKUD18.
Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is located in Newport, Sydney on the picturesque Pittwater. The Club has a rich history, having been formed in 1867, gaining its “Royal” prefix in 1911.
The Club looks forward to welcoming competitors and their families from across the globe to Pittwater for a fantastic World Championships.

Event Overview
These championships will demonstrate the inclusive nature of sailing as a sport with open fleet racing enabling sailors with a variety of disabilities to compete with and against sailors without disabilities.
The Hansa Worlds has attracted more than 200 competitors from 19 nations.

Competitor, Supporters and Volunteers Information
- Para Classification Registration
Para Classification will be conducted at RPAYC on 23 & 24 March 2025. Registration by Sunday 9 March 2025 is necessary for all competitors who wish to compete in the Para Sailing Championships, even if they are on the current World Sailing Para Classification Master List

Volunteers Information
Be part of the Hansa Worlds by volunteering. A huge number of tasks and roles are required to run the Worlds.
- Shore assistance – Welcome Teams, Traffic Control, Parking, Unloading, Registration, launching, boat movements, Social Events, hull and sail measurements and more.
- On water – Tow boats, support boats, race mgt vessels, start/finish boats, WS Official boats.
Volunteers Information Evening – Wednesday 22 January, 1800hrs RPAYC.
Volunteer Induction Sessions
- 9am on Saturday 8 March – at RPAYC
- 6pm on Friday 14 March – at RPAYC

RPAYC Edinburgh Lounge will be the HQ for volunteer and race mgt teams during the championship from 19 – 31 March.
Collect UHF radios, Team Identification vests, Volunteer LS Shirt, sunscreen and view daily rosters here.
