WOW what a turn out we witnessed this soggy Sunday Centreboard – Big thanks to our amazing RO Andy Springer.

We saw 53 boats competing in our Club Champs and Opti GP round 3 this weekend. The lawn was absolutely buzzing with all the activity and there was a great excitement in the air. Again, we welcomed an ever growing fleet of Opti sailors including competitors from Woollahra and Middle Harbour with over 24 competitors in that class alone.

After briefing the Race Management Committee and Safety Boat volunteers headed out to the big pond race track where we laid a Northerly course to take advantage of the building breeze. We managed to avoid the rain with the first race setting off at 1.33pm.

On-water competition was strong with lots of close finishes, especially in the large Optimist fleet experiencing the amazing conditions Pittwater.
Our Race Management Team are also using the Opti GP series to prepare for the Opti National Championships in January.

Thank you to our series supporters Vaikobi, who have supported racing and provided a great bounty of prizes for the Race Committee to present to our competitors.
