ZHIK Centreboard Winter Series – Round 1
Sunday, 1 June
We were thrilled to welcome over 30 boats to the water for Round 1 of the ZHIK Centreboard Winter Series on Sunday, 1 June.
Although the day started off with light winds in the Little Pond, we managed to find a breeze further up in the Big Pond—allowing for some great racing conditions as the day progressed.
It was fantastic to see a mix of new faces and returning regulars out on the water.
The Opti fleet was our largest of the day, with 12 sailors hitting the water.
Jayden Wang on Lionfish took out the win with two victories across three races.
Yufu Wang on UFO was consistent with three 2nd-place finishes.
Lucas Yuning on Flash rounded out the podium in 3rd place.

Mixed Junior Handicap
Frederik Attrill and crew on Zephyr claimed top honours.
Lara Dorling and Charlie Antill sailed strongly in a Pacer to finish 2nd.
Lasers ILCAs
John Black on Indispensable 2 led the Laser fleet.
Charlie Byford on The Chocolate Factory came in 2nd.
Michael Hanavan on Joanna followed in 3rd.
Mixed Handicap
Warwick Rooklyn and crew on the VX1 Bolt took 1st place.
Linda Buchan and Arthur Spithill on the Skud Jim Brown claimed 2nd.
The VX1 Rapture with David Hyde and crew finished 3rd.
Multihulls
Nick Elliott finished 1st.
Angus Musgrove followed closely in 2nd.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who helped ensure a smooth and enjoyable day of sailing!
We look forward to seeing everyone again for Round 2 on Sunday 6 July!
