RPAYC Pacers find a new home at Carcoar Dam
Two RPAYC Pacer sailing dinghies have found a new home at Carcoar Dam Sailing Club (CDSC), where they will help introduce the next generation of sailors to the sport in regional NSW.
The volunteer-run club, located in the Central West, recently became an accredited Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre and has experienced strong growth in junior sailors, families, new members and Learn to Sail participants.
CDSC Commodore Ren Reimers thanked RPAYC for the donation and the warm welcome received when he and Aaron travelled to Newport to collect the boats.
“Donations like this make an enormous difference to what we can offer our members and the wider community,” Ren said. “These two Pacers will be fantastic additions to our training fleet, helping us introduce more people to sailing, develop their skills and hopefully inspire a few future champions along the way.”
Ren also highlighted the camaraderie within the sailing community, describing the support of an established club such as RPAYC for a small regional club as something “pretty special”.
RPAYC is delighted to see the Pacers continue their life on the water and looks forward to seeing them sailing on Carcoar Dam and helping more people discover the enjoyment of sailing.
