Dear Members,
One of the biggest events ever held at our Club is fast approaching – the 2025 Hansa World and International Championships, including both the Para Worlds and the Hansa Worlds. We will be welcoming over 180 sailors from 19 countries, competing in more than 150 Hansa yachts across various designs. Racing will take place over six days, starting on 24 March, with the IDP pre-event running from 18 to 22 March.
The Club will be hosting competitors, support teams, and spectators from around the world, and this is our chance to showcase RPAYC at its very best.
Fortunately, many members have already stepped forward to volunteer, and I sincerely thank each of you for your generous contributions. However, there are still opportunities to get involved, and we would love to hear from you if you can assist.
We are particularly looking for volunteers to help with: Launching and retrieving boats – assisting sailors at the dock areas, C-ARM, and the Services Wharf
On-water support – race management, mark laying, safety boats
Event logistics – registration, boat storage, general assistance
Parking and traffic coordination
Volunteer Briefings
To ensure everyone is well-prepared, we are holding two volunteer briefings at the Club:
• Saturday, 8 March at 09:00 AM
• Friday, 14 March at 06:00 PM
Whether you have already registered or are just considering getting involved, we encourage you to attend one of these sessions to learn more about how the HANSA regatta will function and hopefully, how you can contribute.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a truly special event, meet sailors from around the world, and contribute to a regatta that embodies inclusivity and community spirit.
If you can assist or would like more information, please contact the Club office or attend one of the briefings.
Looking forward to seeing many of you involved in making this event a huge success.
Best regards,
Robert McClelland
