AC40 Fly's to RPAYC

Press Release:

McConaghy Boats and the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club have come together in a partnership that offers both members and visitors to the club a unique experience. Together they have launched the AC40 simulator training system, which brings the exhilaration and thrill of sailing an AC40 to the Sydney shores at RPAYC.

The new simulator provides a new way of training for those who wish to pursue this challenging sport, as well as an opportunity for sailing enthusiasts to have a go in a relaxed and safe environment. The simulator experience is as close to the real experience as you could imagine, with every turn, gust and swell realistically mimicked.

This initiative furthers the collaboration of these two organisations and bolsters their determination to offer the very best sailing and training programs, an ambition shared for almost a century. Emirates Team NZL designed the AC40 simulator with McConaghy Boats building this state-of-the-art system.

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club welcomes everyone to come and try out the new AC40 simulator and to experience the thrill of sailing at its very best.

Join Fellow members and competitors in the Pittwater Regatta NSW ORC Championship on Friday 9 February 5pm for the official launch!

Club Members Nina Curtis & Natasha Bryant will be on deck for a Q&A session followed by a demonstration of the system before members and guests on the night slide into the sim to experience it for themselves and their team.

Introducing the AC40 simulator designed by Emirates Team NewZealand, built by McConaghy boats – the perfect solution for sailors who want to perfect their skills without being on the water.

This incredible simulator boasts cutting-edge technology that is identical to the real thing. You’ll feel like you’re actually sailing an AC40 boat while training on this state-of-the-art simulator.

The simulator has proven to be a game-changer for sailors looking to hone their skills before hitting the open water. It’s a must-have for anyone serious about sailing. What’s more, the AC40 simulator will be seen racing later this year as part of the America’s Cup program. That means you’ll be able to train on the very same technology that the world’s top sailors are using to prepare for the biggest regatta of the year.

With its sleek and modern design, the AC40 simulator not only trains but also creates an engaging and fun experience for sailors of all levels to experience the future of sailing technology.

Don’t Miss the Launch, You won’t be disappointed.

A booking system will be established for Members to experience, train and compete in Teams on the simulator.
