A beautiful Pittwater winter’s afternoon provided the perfect stage for the final race of the 2026 Wednesday Winter Series, bringing another successful season of midweek racing to a close.
Competitors enjoyed a light to moderate west southwesterly breeze of 5–10 knots, with occasional gusts reaching 15 knots across the more exposed parts of Pittwater. The sunshine, flat water and relaxed winter conditions delivered exactly what Wednesday racing has become known for, competitive sailing without the pressure, followed by great company back at the Club.
Whether you’re looking to sharpen your boat handling, introduce new crew to racing, or simply enjoy an afternoon on the water, the Wednesday Winter Series offers one of the most enjoyable racing opportunities on Pittwater. Short courses, friendly competition and a welcoming fleet make it ideal for experienced racers and those taking their first steps into club racing alike.
Looking Ahead
If you’ve been watching from the marina or thinking about getting involved, now is the perfect time to start planning for next season.
Bring your boat. Bring your crew. Or come and find a crew.
Wednesday afternoon racing is one of the easiest ways to enjoy regular sailing, improve your skills, and become part of the vibrant RPAYC racing community.
We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new competitors back on the start line next winter.
See you on the water!
