Dear Members,
With the recent and successful revival of the Admiral’s Cup in Cowes, culminating in the iconic Fastnet Race, the global offshore sailing community has reclaimed one of its great contests. Australia was proudly represented by a team from the CYCA, with outstanding performances from Zen and Back to Black.
Given RPAYC’s storied history in offshore racing and its past Admiral’s Cup victory the time is right for us to explore mounting a campaign for the 2027 edition of the Admiral’s Cup.
We are calling for expressions of interest from:
- Boat owners interested in entering their yacht or chartering one abroad
- Sailors keen to be considered for the racing team
- Members with skills in campaign management, fundraising, logistics, or sponsorship
We are forming a Feasibility Committee to assess:
- The availability of suitable boats
- Logistics of shipping or chartering
- Crew formation
- Budgeting and potential fundraising
- Overall campaign viability
Our goal is to determine by mid-2026 whether RPAYC can field a competitive team in 2027.
If you are interested in participating in any capacity – as a sailor, owner, supporter, or team contributor – please send your expression of interest by November 30, 2025.
