Hansa Worlds 2025 - Club Facility Operation Impacts

We are excited and proud to be chosen to host the 2025 Hansa Class Association World & International Championships this March! RPAYC will welcome over 180 sailors, their support crews, families, and officials from more than 16 countries. This event will be a major highlight at the club, celebrating the spirit of sailing and ‘Freedom on the Water.’

As we prepare for this exciting regatta, we want to ensure our members are informed about important changes that will impact access to the club, hardstands, marina, and parking areas. Please take a moment to review the details below.

Hardstands -Boat Movements

To maintain a safe and accessible environment for the competitors, there will be some necessary boat movements and storage adjustments:

Crystal Bay

  • Boats along the eastern fence line (from the crane to midway) will be relocated north of the hardstand in a top & tail configuration.
  • RIBs stored beside the sliding gate will be moved to the lawn at 7 Crystal Street.
  • Catamarans currently outside the designated area will be moved behind the 11m spaces.

Green Point

  • Boats along the seawall near the crane will be temporarily relocated

Hardstands Cranes & Floating Ramp

Competitors will launch from the Crystal Bay hardstand crane and floating ramp. The Green Point Hardstand will be used for storage, weighing, and retrieval for competitors between preliminary training events and the Championships.

Anticipated Peak Usage Dates:

  • Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 March – Floating ramp and Crystal Bay pontoon
  • Sunday 23 & Monday 24 March – All facilities
  • Sunday 30 & Monday 31 March – All facilities

Green Point Berths & Service Wharf Areas

Green Point & Boatyard Berths will be used for temporarily relocating member boats from the marina, meaning they will be unavailable for general or work berth use. The layup berth will be reserved exclusively for the Boatyard, which will remain fully operational during the event.

The Service Wharf will be utilised for competitor storage and cranes. Short-term (15-minute) berthing may be available during races when no competitors are launching. Please call Reception if you require access.

Support Ribs
The club is seeking assistance with on-water activities during the regatta.  If your RIB is stored at the club and available for use, please complete this online form. RIBs will be used to tow dinghies between the launch area and marina storage locations.
