We had over 20 boats join the fleet on water for Round 1 of the ZHIK Centreboard on Sunday 8 October. ILCAs, Optis, Vipers, a Manly Junior, SKUD18 all set out in little pond for racing in pleasant conditions with an 8knt – 10knt Easterly.
In the Optis it was a tight tussle with Ruben Steel in Chicken Dinner and Izaac Johnson in Mighty Midgie, both winning a race in the first two races. The third race, Chicken Dinner just pipped Mighty Midgie, congratulations to Ruben. Well done to all the junior sailors. We look forward to seeing you compete throughout the season.
In the ILCA6’s, Colin Beshel in 210, Steve Bryant in Smile and Wave and Lyndall Patterson in Spindle all had individual wins with Colin Beshel in 210, taking out the overall win.
In the ILCA7’s it was Chris Dawson on Seedy who made it a clean sweep.
In the Vipers, Beau White in Goodall Design swept the division with Ruel Rigging Australia in second in each of the races.
A huge thank you to the volunteers on Sunday who assisted in the smooth running of the day. It was greatly appreciated by all.
