Race Officer report
Sunday Centreboard welcomed an intimate gathering on race day, with the fleet small but keen. Lasers and Waszps were well represented and joined by a skud and a couple of our 29ers.
The ominous morning weather, that may have kept many away from racing, cleared and conditions on water for the first race at 1.30pm enabled the full 3 races away for Round 3 of the Spring Series. All sailors competed on one course in bigpond. Wind of 8-15knts kept smiles on the faces of competitors and the Race Committee!
Lasers were on their best ‘starting’ behaviour… until the last race when 4x were OCS. Some impressive downwind speeds achieved by both 29ers and most Lasers when the gusts were on. A great sail had by all!
Great turn out of volunteers but we still need more people to fill the roles. If you are available for any of the upcoming rounds, please reach out to either our Centreboard Volunteer Co-ordinator Scott Paulson or the sailing office.
