Family Racing Report: Club Championships – Round 1
What a fantastic day it was at the club! Families gathered on the lawn to watch the boats rigging up, with plenty of excitement in the air for the first round of the Club Championships. The atmosphere was perfect for families and young ones, with lots of cheering and encouragement from parents, siblings, and friends.
In the Pacer division, it was wonderful to see five boats on the course. Big congratulations to Katie and Henry Pellow, who claimed the win for this round! The Pacer division was filled with close races, and everyone gave it their all.
Over in the Lasers, Stuart Holdsworth aboard Full Cream Milk had a remarkable day, winning each of the three races in his division. He was closely followed by Lyndall Patterson on Spindle, who gave an impressive performance throughout.
Our Mixed Junior Fleet was another highlight, with plenty of young sailors gaining valuable experience and making family supporters proud. Well done to Jack Dent and Max Gadja in their Flying 11, as well as Charlie Antill and Angus Clark in the Manly Junior, who successfully navigated the course for the first two races. It’s inspiring to see such a great turnout from our junior sailors!
In the Waszps, Louis Tilly showed strong skills, winning all three races. The Waszp races were fast-paced and thrilling to watch, with Louis leading the way!
We can’t wait to see you all back for Round 4 of the Spring Championships on Sunday. Bring the whole family along for another exciting day of racing and camaraderie!
