Lease a Club boat for training & racing

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club has a fantastic opportunity for members to lease a club boat to participate in club training and racing activities. There are many benefits to leasing an RPAYC vessel, including:

  • Access to trial a vessel before committing to the purchase of one.
  • Easy access to club facilities by having the boat already on premises at the club
  • Member racking included foc at the Centreboard lawn. A great way to integrate with the Centreboard community and fellow club members.

Halvorsen Lease Scheme

Lease an Optimist for Junior Centreboard Training

The Halvorsen Lease Scheme is exclusive to members of RPAYC who are registered in a training course through the Sailing department.

The scheme offers a simple pathway from Tackers 3 Learn to Sail in to our Junior Centreboard Training Fleet. The lease of a fibreglass Optimist will allow your child to easily transition into our squads and also see them participating in Club Racing with the Centreboard community and families on a Sunday.

The Halvorsen Lease Scheme has a variety of vessels available for lease to cater to different levels of training, abilities and interests

  • 7 x Optimist Dinghies
  • 2 x Flying Ant Skiffs
  1. Complete an application form, outlining the full dates of the lease. 
  2. Following the submission of your application form, will receive an email from the Sailing Office with the details of your boat allocation and where it is stored. You will be able to access your boat from the first date as listed on the lease information. One of our Instructors will be able to show you your boat and how to look after the equipment.
    It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of the equipment whilst in your care.
  3. At the completion of the lease please notify your Sailing Instructor on the last day of training that you are retuning the equipment. The Sailing Instructor will go through each item with you and fill in a condition report. Lost of damaged equipment are payable by the user.

Lease a 'Pacer' Dinghy

Lease a boat for Centreboard 'Family' Racing

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club has a fleet of ‘Pacer’ double-handed sailing dinghies which can be leased for Centreboard Racing and Training. The Pacers are available for a ‘daily’ or ‘monthly’ lease, and are the perfect boat to join in the Centreboard ‘Family’ division.

Leasing a club ‘Pacer’ is an easy way to access the club facilities, by having a boat already on premises at the club. A great way to integrate with the Centreboard community and fellow club members.

  1. Complete an application form, outlining the full dates of the lease. 
  2. Following the submission of your application form, will receive an email from the Sailing Office with the details of your boat allocation and where it is stored. Lease an Elliott 7

Lease an Elliott for Club Yacht Racing & Regattas

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club has a fleet of 8 x Elliott 7 keelboats. The E7’s are available to members to lease for training and club racing series and regattas. Please complete the registration form to include all of your personal details, list of crew, and date of use/series. Please note a separate entry must be made for a club racing series or regatta. 

Further information may be required for the RPAYC Sailing Office to consider this application. The approval of this application by the RPAYC will result in a licence subject to the term and conditions, and any other restrictions notified by RPAYC Sailing Office on the use of the Elliott 7 including but not limited to the area, crew numbers, sail plan or time limits. The RPAYC reserves the right to immediately terminate any approved licence, for inappropriate or incompetent use of the Elliott 7 during the lease period, in which event the lease fee or any part of it is non-refundable.

  • A brief overview of the sailing experience of skipper and crew
