Commodore's Christmas Message

Dear Members of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club,

As we approach the festive season, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each and every one of you for a joyful and restful Christmas break. May this time be filled with happiness, cherished moments with loved ones, and a chance to reflect on the wonderful memories we’ve created together this past year.

Looking ahead to 2025, I am filled with excitement for what the new year will bring. We have the Hansa and Para World Championships scheduled to take place at our club in March 2025, and I can’t wait to see our community come together for this prestigious event. I envision a year brimming with engaging social activities, thrilling sailing events, and plenty of opportunities to connect with one another. Let’s make it a year that embodies our love for sailing and our strong community spirit.

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my fellow directors, Rear Commodores, our many dedicated volunteers, and all of you, our wonderful members. Your hard work, support, and commitment have been instrumental in making this year truly exceptional. A special thank you goes to our General Manager, Jon Harkness, and his entire team of professional staff who manage our club so well. Their efforts greatly enhance our enjoyment of the club and create a welcoming environment for all.

This past year has indeed been remarkable, highlighted by our successful Pittwater Regatta and the incredible achievement at the 30th Harken International Youth Match Racing Championship, where we celebrated our first win in a decade, led by the talented Daniel Kemp and his crew. These accomplishments, along with many other exceptional results throughout the year, are a testament to the dedication and talent that our club embodies.

Thank you all for your contributions and for making the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club a vibrant place to be. I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with joy, adventure, and success.

Warm regards,

Robert McClelland
