Three RPAYC sailors made the trip north for the two day regatta, but Dave was the stand out performer in the very strong twenty-eight boat fleet.

Day One was sailed in top end B Rig conditions. That suited Dave who sailed fast and smart, keeping risk levels to a minimum and finished the day among the top three boats that were all very close on points. Day Two could not have been more different with near perfect A Rig conditions that saw a few different sailors scoring race wins. However Dave was rarely out of the top four or five places, and after sixteen races were completed he had established a comfortable twenty-three point margin between himself and second place to take the win.

The next big event on the DF sailing calendar this year is the NSW DF65 Championship that RPAYC will be hosting in November. Entries for that event are capped at forty-five boats and there will be a large contingent of very competitive local sailors with a good chance of a podium result.
