Sunday 13 October saw the return to Centreboard Sailing at the Alfred’s, with Round 1 of the ZHIK Centreboard Spring Series. The Jack Gale Training Centre and lawn was a hive of activity as various sailors went about their preparation for the day.

The Junior Centreboard Training Fleet were fired up from their pre-season holiday training, held 8-10 October. Led by Rob Brewer, the afternoon sessions gave our Junior Fleet Training squad an opportunity to develop their skills and prep for the season ahead. It was great to welcome so many new and returning sailors to the program.

The racing fleet consisted of ILCAS and Mixed Multis who were joined by 5 Optimists, a couple of Manly Juniors and a Flying 11 from Junior Training Fleet.

Congratulations and well done to all participants, especially the budding sailors who have progressed from Tackers 3. We look forward to seeing you race throughout the season!

There is a great program of Centreboard racing scheduled for the season ahead – including a special entry and lease offer for anyone wanting to compete in the Family Pacer Dingy Division. Last season we had a great Family Pacer competition within Club Champs and it was a lot of fun! A special menu and great tunes will be waiting for you on Sundial Lawn. Grab your friends and come to the club – or head in after racing and enjoy the vibes with friends.
