One of the busiest weekends of racing for club members was seen with competition in the Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs Yacht Race, Sail Port Stephens Regatta, 29er Class and Flying Ants GP Series, Hempel World Cup Series in Spain and the Platu Championship in Thailand.

After taking line honours and setting a new race record in the Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht Race, Peter Harburg’s 100ft Black Jack has been declared the overall winner of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club’s (RPAYC) 226 nautical mile race.

The club hosted the final round of the 29er GP Series over the weekend. Testing conditions for both competitors and the race management team. After a long wait ashore competitors completed the Series in a 8 to 15 knots of La Niña completing 4 races. The class sore 47 entrants in the Series overall with 18 competing on Pittwater.

A challenging last day in Palma saw Jim Colley & Shaun Connor end up 19th overall in their first international regatta in over 2 years. “Gratifying to see that the work we have put in whilst at home is paying off, and exciting that there is still so much to improve racing-wise. The goal of this regatta was to discover weaknesses, and we now have 10 more days of training in Palma to start addressing them before Hyeres at the end of the month” said Colley.
