Women’s World Match Racing Tour & Trivia Night

Welcome to our Womens World Match Racing Team for 2022
Juliet Costanzo will be leading an experienced all female team to compete in the inaugural Women’s World Match Racing Tour, with the final event being the Women’s Match Racing World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.

This tour is a global professional series designed to promote and grow female participation in sailing and match racing around the world. Costanzo is joined by some of the best female sailors in Australia. The team will be competing against ex-Olympians, previous and current World Champions of the sport. Given the depth of talent in the team they have a great chance of success.

To raise support for the campaign, a trivia night will be held on Friday the 16th of September, 6:30pm in Halyards.

Tickets for trivia are $25 (payment on arrival) which includes a free drink. Come along to hear more about the campaign, enjoy Friday nights back at the club and put your trivia knowledge to the test!

Who Are We?

Juliet Costanzo is joined by Sarah Parker, Alice Tarnawski, Clare Costanzo and Jemma Hodgson. This well-established team has an admirable work ethic and has developed their skills over many hours on the water over the years. Within the team, they have won four National Titles, two World Titles, two Youth Match Racing Events, as well as placed and competed in numerous more events. They have proudly and respectfully represented Australia and their local club on the global stage; from the United States, New Zealand, China, New Caledonia to South Korea.

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club Youth Development Graduates Juliet Costanzo, Sarah Parker, Jemma Hodgson, Rosie Rowell, and Ruby Scholten have been invited to compete in the Women’s World Match Racing Tour. The team will face some high caliber competition, matching up against the top ranked female teams from around the world.

The first event of the roster is the Women’s Match Race in Copenhagen, Denmark followed by the Corfu Match and the EUROSAF Women’s European Championship – both of which take place in Corfu, Greece. The girls will then return home and compete in the Women’s Match Racing Nationals fighting for a spot at the World Championship in Auckland.
