The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club will be conducting a Marina Radio Course for members and guest wanting to gain their MROCP qualification for all VHF/HF users (whether racing to Coffs Harbour, around Pittwater or Cruising Australia).

A fabulous weekend, enjoyed by at least a dozen RPA families at an optimist regatta held at Canberra Yacht Club with an amazing turnout with over 100 Optimists in three classes.
Most of us stayed in the same apartment block, so a great atmosphere was generated.

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club hosts of the Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs Harbour race, have announced that boats will be allowed to compete in the 33rd running of the event carrying a satellite phone as an alternative to HF radio for communication purposes.

Another October long weekend ….. and another youth regatta.
I have to admit that as we headed off on Saturday morning the car was unusually quiet, both of us reflecting on the great racing we’ve seen at previous NSW Youth Championships and the talented sailors we’ve watched move through the ranks over many years. This would be the last youth regatta for our family and the forecast looked promising for Brodie to be competitive in his last youth event.
With the spotlight on the Pittwater bred James Spithill’s recent success in winning the America’s Cup coming from 8-1 down, there has been a surge of interest in the sport of sailing so The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Newport has decided to once again open its doors to the public for an Open House Day this Sunday 13 October to show how simply you or your children can start sailing.
