Upholding Our Values: A Reminder of the RPAYC Code of Conduct

Dear Members,

In the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that defines the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), we wish to remind all members of our longstanding Code of Conduct. Our Club is a example of excellence, and our actions, both on and off the water, should reflect the honor and respect we have for this distinction.

The RPAYC prides itself not only on our competitive success but also on the character and integrity of our members. We are ambassadors of the sport and our Club at every event, gathering, and social interaction. It is essential that we uphold the highest standards of conduct, exemplifying professionalism, respect, and fairness at all times.

We are committed to creating a welcoming environment for all members and guests, free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Respect for individuals, regardless of their role, experience, or background, is paramount. Fair play and sportsmanship govern our participation in all events. We compete with honor, respecting the rules of the sport and the efforts of our competitors.

The safety of our members, guests, and the broader community is our top priority. We adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, both on and off the water.
The Club’s facilities, equipment, and natural surroundings are valuable assets. We use these resources responsibly and encourage sustainable practices.

Active participation in Club activities strengthens our community. We encourage members to engage with the Club, offering their time, skills, expertise and Members are encouraged to hold each other accountable to these standards. If you witness or experience conduct that contradicts our Code of Conduct, we urge you to report it to Club Management. Our commitment to integrity means ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.

The RPAYC is more than just a yacht club; it is a family bound by a love for sailing and a shared set of values. Upholding the Code of Conduct is a collective responsibility, one that ensures our Club remains a place of respect, safety, and joy for everyone.

Let us all commit to these principles, ensuring that the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club continues to be a beacon of excellence and camaraderie in the sailing community.

Sincerely,

Kind regards,

RPAYC Commodore, Robert McClelland
