Two Teams Tie for first on Day Two of the Gov Cup

By Nancy Mellon
Day two brought south west winds of 8 to 13 knots at noon with a temperature in the low 70’s. There was heavy chop when the racers were towed out at noon. This was the day when the three teams with no losses had to race against each other.

Day One of Racing at 47th Governor’s Cup

Three teams are unbeaten at the end of the first day of racing. Each has yet to compete against any of the other two in the first round robin. There are four more rounds to be held tomorrow before moving on to the quarter finals.

Great Weather for the 47th Governor’s Cup

Practice day for the Gov Cup teams brought 8 to10 knots of wind, low 70’s temperature and a casual afternoon. All the teams checked in, got to renew friendships and make new ones. Many of the racers had been here before and/or competed against each other in a variety of events throughout the world. Some of the parents have arrived as well, including John Eastman and Richard Novak from Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club.
