Teams from the Cruising Yacht Club Of Australia (CYCA), The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club (NCYC) & Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron (RSYS) contested the final event of the 2019 Interclub Challenge on Sunday, hosted by the CYCA.
The Interclub Challenge sees youth sailors from the four yacht clubs get out on the water and compete in this fleet racing challenge. Each yacht club has a turn of hosting the event, and is represented by two teams, with the combined scores of the two teams going towards an aggregated point score to determine the winning yacht club.
Clubs are free to send any of thier youth sailors and RPAYC likes to use this opportinuty to use some of our newer Intermediate Youth Development Sailors which gives them all some regatta exposure.
We are pleased to report that the RPAYC finished in 2nd place overall.
