Raffle tickets are now available for purchase at reception at $2.50 or 5 for $10 to help support RPAYC youth sailors Jim Colley (16) and Shaun Connor (15) in the 29er class as they represent their country.
This years’ Boating Industry Association of Victoria’s (BIA) Melbourne Boat Show will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 12 -16 June 2014.

As the summer sailing season comes to a close, the optimist sailors are ramping up their preparations for their winter schedule.
The NSW State Optimist Championships were held at St Georges River Sailing club last weekend (29/30 March). The RPAYC were once again well represented with a large contingent of 21 optimist sailors (the largest participation by any one club) covering all three fleets generating some fantastic results, as follows:
The RPAYC will soon retire its fleet of six Force 24s. The fleet have taught literally 100s of people to sail and have been used extensively in the club’s coveted Youth Development program assisting in the development of skilled sailors such as James Spithill and Nina Curtis. The boats have been used for both match racing and fleet racing regattas and used by members to compete in regular club racing.

On the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of March the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club hosted the Hansa Liberty NSW state titles and the Paralympic Skud 18 Australian titles.

The Middle Harbour Yacht Club race committee did well to keep all sailors safe today after a lighting, rain and hail storm cell came through the Harbour just after midday. The committee were unable to get a race in for day three of the 2014 Melges 32 Australian Championships.

At the recent Garmin International Etchells Class 2013-2014 NSW championship, RPAYC was well represented by 6 Etchells i.e. approx 15% of the fleet, plus crew on other boats. 39 boats hotly contested the starts and series.

Milly Bennett and her crew of Seldon Coventry, Alice Tarnawski, Kajsa Doyle and Jess Russell, representing the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, have won the Marinassess Womens Match Racing Regatta, hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Youth Sailing Academy.
