The women’s fleet captains have proposed the club host an inaugural Women’s Development Regatta using the Elliott 7s, this coming November. The aim is to create an environment conducive to learning and honing skills, and meeting other social sailors and club members, plus potential members.
The club can host a standalone regatta using eight of the RPAYC’s Elliotts (32 participants) OR combine with a Sprint Series weekend and use four Elliotts (16 participants). Both formats would include some basic theory, dedicated coaches and opportunities to socialise within the club’s COVID-19 restrictions, but for the latter we’d share a racetrack.
If you are keen to register an EOI please email sailing office firstname.lastname@example.org by COB August 7 and include your preference for A) a standalone women’s training regatta or B) combining with a Sprint Series weekend and racing against other one-design fleets and sports boats or at least sharing a start line.
