You would be aware that ‘take-away’ is currently allowed and we are gearing up to provide our members with a selection of fresh and frozen meals, along with other quick take away options such as pantry items for home and take away alcohol provisions. We will continue to update you on developments and hope that you will support this initiative for your benefit and also for that of the Club. Any unspent House Entitlement could be used on these purchases. Please also note that we will be extending the period that any unspent House Entitlement can be used into our next financial year.
Our Waterfront team continues to maintain our facilities, including our marina and boat storage areas. We appreciate that some members are regularly coming down to their vessels and many are still getting out on the water. I encourage this, but please adhere to government directives and share that experience with only your immediate family who are living under the same roof. Please do not gather or organise social racing or cruising events at this time. These events will not only unnecessarily put your fellow members in danger but also may prompt the government to clamp down on marina access and boatyard operations.
If you are self-isolating or minimising the time that you are out and about it is likely that you will not be attending to your vessel, therefore, while we are permitted to do so, we are offering facility holders a complimentary fortnightly comprehensive ‘Boat Check’. Club staff will undertake a fortnightly check of facility holders' boats from the lines through to the bilge and everything in-between! Should you wish to take advantage of this service, please click here to download the form and submit. Our Waterfront boys will also continue their daily 'dock walk' to keep an eye on your vessel so if you have any particular concerns we are here to assist; please contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone. Our Boatyard and our valued tenants continue to operate to look after your vessels. We would ask that you support these businesses and make sure that your boats are being appropriately maintained.
In a prior announcement I mentioned that bathroom facilities at the Club would be limited to those in Jack Gale Centre. We have rethought that directive and will make the main bathrooms in the Clubhouse available instead. These bathrooms will be accessible via the rear laneway using your membership card. Sailfit Gym was also closed on Monday as per government instructions. Tana Anderson continues to provide ‘open air’ personal training on the grounds of the Club for those still wishing to keep fit. Please let us know if you would like to be involved.
I would like to thank those of you who have contacted the Club offering words of support. It means a great deal to our staff who are doing their best in these trying times.
There will be tighter controls in coming days, weeks and months and we appreciate that many of our members will be impacted over this period. As a Club and as a community I would ask that you keep in touch with each other and offer support, particularly to our more senior members. Please reach out to each other and the Club if you need a hand.
Please look after yourself and those around you.
