Closure of the RPAYC Clubhouse

23 March 2020

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Closure of the RPAYC Clubhouse

You may have heard by now, the Government has instructed all Registered Clubs to close indefinitely from midday today, 23 March 2020.

Accordingly, the main Clubhouse building of the RPAYC is now closed and it will not be possible for Members to access the licenced premises, reception and the gym until further notice.

At this stage, the close down direction does not seem to extend to our marina, boatyard and car park areas and so those aspects of the Club’s operations are currently unaffected – however this may change. Similarly, members will have access to the bathroom facilities at the Jack Gale Centre.

The Board and I will meet this afternoon to consider the options for the Club going forward. Considerations to our financial position, particularly in regard to our ability to retain key employees and the need to look after their interests, will be of high priority.

The Club’s ability to maintain our facilities, members vessels, provide adequate security and other services to members will continue. Our Boatyard, tenants and retailers will remain open and we would ask that you continue to support these business operations.

Instructions from government are changing frequently and we will keep you updated as things evolve.

While the impact of the economic shutdown is uncertain, the Club has the resources to manage through this period. With the support of our key staff and members and hopefully with the actions to avert the spread of COVID-19 being successful, we look forward to re-opening the Club in the near future.

Please look after yourself and the health of those around you.

Craig Evans
General Manager, RPAYC
