Round 4 - Interclub Regatta

Unfortunately Round 3 of the Interclub hosted by the RSYS was cancelled due to a strong wind forecast, however Round 4 (the final round) got underway in meticulous conditions on Pittwater hosted by the RPAYC.
Starting in a westerly, the breeze then headed left and settled with a nice 10 knot southerly. 5 races were completed with the RPAYC Intermediate Youth Development Squad making great progress throughout the series, this was particularly noted as the IYD were up against some of the other yacht clubs senior squads.

Morgan Singleton and his team had a terrific day finishing in 2nd place. Ollie Gordon and his team sailed a consistent day scoring 5th with the combined points of both teams placing the Alfreds in 2nd overall for Round 4.
Unfortunately however the RSYS sent in the big guns and knocked us back from 2nd to 3rd in the overall Interclub Pointscore Series.
Club Coach Tom Spithill commented ‘I can’t wait for the members to see how far this young group of sailors has come since joining the Intermediate Youth Development Program. They will get to showcase their new honed skills when they compete next in the July One Design Regatta’.

Representing the RPAYC Intermediate Development Squad were:

Team Red: Ollie Gordon, Ellis Merrett, Eva Attwood , Jack Hildebrand, Isabella Attwood
Team Blue: Morgan Singleton, Max Faulker, Hugo Butterworth, Tom Quarrie, Bayley Taylor

Coached by Tom Spithill
