The 2013 New South Wales Moth Championship has been won by Easy Tiger Racing Team’s Josh McKnight.

Melges Young Guns Firing last Weekend

Last weekend the RPAYC hosted the third Melges Young Guns Regatta. Each year generous Melges 24 and Melges 32 owners hand over their pride and joy so that some of Sydney’s young guns can experience Melges. Not only does it provide the opportunity for the owners to meet some of Australia’s younger successful sailors but it also allows the young guns to compete with their own team in the Melges classes.

154 boats entered in NSW Optimist State Championships this week-end at RPAYC

The Pittwater waterway will be a spectacular sight when a massive 154 boats, with kids aged between 8 and 14, assemble this week-end for the start of the 2013 NSW International Optimist State Championships, hosted by the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Newport.

Another big week-end ahead at the Alfreds

The NSW Optimist State Championships is being hosted by the RPAYC this week-end. With 154 boats entered in the regatta, there will be lots of visiting kids, siblings and parents at the club. With so many boats the outside area of the bottom car park will be used to rig and store the Optimisits over the week-end.

Colley and Connor win 29er State Championships

The rookies, Jim Colley and Shaun Connor are part of the Objective Future Champions Program. Jim, the current New South Wales Optimist Champion, and Shaun, the current New South Wales Laser 4,7 State Champion have teamed up this season in a 29er and have surprised many. On the weekend of 9-10 February, Jim and Shaun, went onto add another state championship to their resume.
