Sea Survival

This program couples the Yachting Australia Sea Safety and Survival Course (YA SSSC) with our Offshore Emergency Training Course.

The focus is on practical training that you can use on your boat with your equipment and your crew.

Who should participate in this course?   Everyone. However, it is particularly relevant to cruising sailors and those going offshore.

Why should I do this course?   The course is designed for people who take the safety of themselves, their boat and their crew seriously. Participants train in small groups and get hands-on experience with all of the equipment.

Duration: 2 days for the YA SSSC and an additional 3 hours on an evening for the Offshore Emergency Training

What do I learn?   Practical over the weekend:

  • Activating life jackets and life rafts
  • Using heaving lines and signalling mirrors
  • Life raft management, including righting an inverted raft
  • Flare drills
  •
