Clubhouse Facilities

Halyards Bar and Bistro
Halyards Bar & Café has water views and is the sailor’s meeting place prior and after racing. It’s great for families with a large safe children’s play area, next to our undercover BBQ. There’s also a large lawn area for the children. Order from the menu or daily blackboard specials or drop in for a beverage and enjoy the sunset. Enjoy a weekend breakfast or a casual lunch with friends overlooking Pittwater.  For trading hours.


Edinburgh Lounge
The Edinburgh Lounge Bar is utilised more in winter and is perfect for pre-dinner drinks with guests and is classically furnished including a cozy fireplace for those cold winter days, 180-degree water views and a balcony overlooking the water and marinas. Live music on Friday nights by talented, local musicians. All welcome. Happy Hour Fridays 6-7pm.


The Alfreds Table Fine Dining Restaurant
The Alfreds Table (the former Quadrant) is open Friday nights from 6.30pm - 9:00pm downstairs in Halyards Bar for a superb fine dining experience. The dining experience in the transformed outside annexe with white clothed tables, table service and flowers all help to create a pleasant and romantic setting.   Choose from the a la carte menue. Pittwater Room
The Pittwater Room is ideal for member functions from 80 to 200 guests seated or 350 cocktail style. The room can be used as a whole or can be divided off into two rooms according to your needs. The Pittwater Room has its own bar and large dance floor. The views of Pittwater from the room are spectacular.


Admiral's Cup Room
The Admiral's Cup Room is ideally suited for small meetings, functions and conferences for up to 50 people. Members only.


The Archives Room
The Archives Room is a small library where members enjoy reading the various nautical books and sifting through endless Club memorabilia and nostalgia.


Sailfit Fitness Centre (Gymnasium)
If you are serious about getting into shape, and don't need all the frills and attitude, the RPAYC gym Sailfit Fitness Centre offers a very comprehensive training facility in a casual, friendly atmosphere. The gym has numerous weight and cardio machines and an onsite professional fitness trainer, Dan Cook and his team of professional trainers, will prepare a program to suit all abilities.  If you would like to be part of the Sailfit database and receive updates on the gym via email please click here. The Billiards Room
The Billiards Room features two full size original and classic billiard tables that are over a hundred years old and beautifully crafted.


Dress Regulations
The Club By-Laws stipulate the following dress regulations:

  • The minimum dress for the Halyards area will be sleeved shirts, shorts and footwear (no rubber thongs).
  • The minimum dress standard for the upper level of the Clubhouse will be clean, smart casual attire and appropriate footwear. 
  • Hats must not be worn in the Clubhouse without the consent of the General Manager.



The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club - RPAYC is a yacht racing and sailing club based on Pittwater.

The yacht club offers year round inshore and offshore racing, cruising, centreboard dinghy racing, sail training and courses plus has a large marina accommodating up to 352 vessels.

There is also a modern boatyard with comprehensive marine services to help maintain your vessel.

Membership, including family membership is now available.
